Pharmacy technician reported feeling sexually harassed by chief of pharmacy and other females felt the same. Requested technician take part in investigation.
Pharmacy Chief was a 25-year employee and favorite of the order of nuns, who were chief administrators of medical center. Director of Personnel had reputation of ignoring sexual harassment issues.
Presented situation to Director of Personnel and stated that inaction would result in legal action by pharmacy tech and that whistleblower policy would be invoked.
Settled on compromise. Pharmacy Chief received counseling and system-wide anti-harassment training was initiated for all management-level employees.
